Many ML algorithms suitable for solving real-world problems require significant resources in terms of computation, power/energy, memory, as well as dollar cost. Compared to CPUs and GPUs, custom implementations (FPGAs and ASICs) can deliver superior performance at reduced cost, power, and with smaller footprint.
AI Chips is led by researchers with over 30+ years of experience in chip design, design automation, algorithm design, algorithm optimization, and embedded computing. Our immediate focus is to implement ML inference accelerators suitable for edge computing.
